A listening session for Get High, the debut solo album by keyboardist, musician, and producer Frédéric Soulard, will be held at Cinematik Saloon.
Inspired by mountainous landscapes, the album was recently released on the Paris-based label NØ FØRMAT!. It marks a more personal turn in Soulard’s practice, inviting listeners into an introspective, dreamlike journey. Across ten tracks, the music moves between ambient and quietly meditative jazz, unfolding with a sense of space, light, and gentle euphoria.
Cinematik Saloon, the venue for this session, is known for its carefully tuned listening environment. Built around vintage JBL horn speakers and analogue equipment, the space prioritises depth, texture, and clarity over volume. Within this setting, the subtle dynamics and fine details of the album come into sharper focus, from the resonance of each note to the lingering presence of sound in the room.
This is a shared listening experience where artist and audience gather in the same space to focus on sound itself. Neither a club nor a concert hall, it offers a moment dedicated purely to listening, an approach to music that reflects the spirit of KYOTOPHONIE.

Frédéric Soulard
Driven by a deep curiosity and a love of collaboration, Frédéric Soulard has been exploring musical worlds for over twenty years as a musician and producer. His passion for travel and encounters has taken him from recording albums in Thailand (with his band Limousine), to South Africa (with Urban Village and Msaki x Tubatsi), to creating a tribute project to Ryuichi Sakamoto (Asynchrone) and to producing records ranging from the stripped-down folk of Piers Faccini to the explosive free jazz of Thomas de Pourquery, via the haunted synth-pop of Jeanne Added and the off-kilter electro-rock of Poni Hoax.
会場
Cinematik Saloon
Founded in 1999, Cinematik Saloon began in Osaka before relocating to Kyoto in 2016. It has been at its current location since 2020.
Like a musician creating an album, the venue has undergone seven relocations and major renovations over the years. Each phase reflects the spirit of its time—a space where ideas and concepts are distilled.
Through being shared, meaning emerges; through remaining ambiguous, it continues to evolve.
