Over her 15-year career, CATTO has become one of the most important voices in contemporary Brazilian music, earning recognition from icons like Ney Matogrosso and Marina Lima. She has released five studio albums, two live albums, and amassed numerous collaborations, awards, and nominations.
In Belezas são Coisas Acesas por Dentro (2023), CATTO reimagines Gal Costa’s music for a new generation, drawing inspiration from the power and freedom of rock and roll. Interestingly, she and Gal share the same birth date—September 26th. With vulnerability and depth, CATTO interprets Gal’s songs to reflect her experiences as a non-binary trans person living in São Paulo, Latin America’s largest city.
In 2023, she performed at Primavera Sound São Paulo, where her show was ranked among the festival’s top 10, alongside The Cure, Pet Shop Boys, and Marisa Monte.
KOM_I
KOM_I is an artist who primarily creates forms of expression through voice and body. She is influenced by Japanese folk performing arts, folklore studies, and North Indian classical music. She currently resides in Bahia, Brazil, and is working on a book about her childbirth experience in the Peruvian Amazon.
Her major works include the album Yakushima Treasure, created with Oorutaichi and inspired by Yakushima Island; the performance A Dream Nesting in a Stone Chamber Tomb at the Ishibutai Kofun in Asuka Village, Nara; and a solo performance of Christian Marclay’s graphic score No! at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo.
KOM_I co-founded the artivism collective HYPE FREE WATER with visual artist Minori Murata to study and raise awareness about water-related issues. As an actress, KOM_I has appeared in NHK’s Our Rainy Days, Netflix’s Followers, and the film September 1923.
KOM_I was formerly the lead vocalist of the music group Wednesday Campanella, she left the group in 2021. She is currently based in Bahia, Brazil.
NANAO KOBAYASHI (FATHER)
Born in Tokyo, artist and musician.
Nano Kobayashi’s work explores phenomena beyond human perception and logic, interpreting them as the movement of particles and waves through sound and performance.
Using self-taught percussion, drums, electronic instruments, and voice, they engage in improvisational performances that create immersive, time-bending live experiences. Under the name FATHER, their practice delves into the fundamental nature of music as an expression of life, intertwining sound with their embroidered sculptures and installations.
Recent projects include Flying Through the Night (2020, Yutaka Kikutake Gallery, Tokyo), Sleeping Sky / COMA SPACE (2023, Kyoto, "Konda-ya Genbei"), and upcoming group exhibitions at Hong Kong’s CHAT and M+ Museum in spring 2025, alongside live performances in Japan and internationally.
During the Edo period, this was the site of the Kyoto Tosa clan residence, and later became the Kyoto Electric Light Company (now Kansai Electric Power Company), where Japan's first successful cinematograph preview was held.
In 1928, Kyoto City Rissei Elementary School was relocated and opened here, attracting many children.
Although it closed in 1993, it was actively used as a base for neighborhood association events and was a place where many people gathered. The Hulic Hall
Kyoto was born from the site of the former Rissei Elementary School, becoming a symbol of the culture and history, a place where cultures come together, encounters are born, and diverse activity spreads throughout the region.
